The Friendship Academy is an Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania program

The Friendship Academy recognizes the power of music in building a variety of many important skills.

Research shows that music helps children do better in math and reading, have better focus and higher self esteem. Music provides an opportunity for self-expression, creativity, socialization and enjoyment. Cognitive and language skills are reinforced through music activities that focus on motor imitation, sound reproduction and vocal response songs. Cognitive skills are also improved through participation in songs which involve concepts such as following directions, sequencing, contrasts and opposites and improvement of short and long-term memory skills.

Music plays an important role in our curriculum and daily schedule.
